April USDA Low Food Plan

According to this plan, our family would have a budget of $191.80 per week.  Given our health concerns, we struggle to maintain this budget, but I am going to try to make this happen.   


Cost-Saving Tip of the Week: Meal Planning is a great strategy to offset the rising prices at the grocery store.    I take a look at what I have in my freezer and refrigerator to start planning.   Then I review the grocery store flyers online to see what items are a good price this week.   I finalize my list and try to pick up the loss leaders for the week for my pantry/freezer.    For example, last week I picked up 5 boxes of cereal at a rock-bottom price for the pantry.
