Menu Planning #146

Our meals need to be nutritious, clean, flexible, quick and cost effective.

Between our work schedules and after school activities, we need to carefully

plan our meals so that we do not end up ordering out.  We try hard to keep our

total food and household products to under $100.00 per week.

Goal: $400.00 + $33.36 = $433.36

What did we spend?

Week 1- $134.50

Peach Truck- $22.00

Aldi: $53.44

CVS: $0.80

Kroger: 54.87

Miejers: 3.39

Rebates: $15.89

IBOTTA: $13.89

SavingStar: $2.00
Kroger Cash: $10.00

Week 2- $102.20

Aldi: $50.41

Kroger: $46.44

$16.01

$27.28

CVS: $3.82

Walgreens: $ 4.68

Rebates:

Register Rewards- $6.00

Week 3- $69.30

Meijer: $19.77

Kroger: $43.08

CVS: $6.45

Rebate:

CVS ECB: $32.00 (Used $19 ECB)

Week 4-

Rebate:

Total: $306.00

Rebate Total: $15.89

Final Total: $290.11

NOTE: Rebate total DOESN’T include Kroger Cash or Refunds because they

will come off of the Kroger Bill automatically the following week.   In addition, I

don’t count CVS as part of the grocery bill because I normally use gift cards and

ECB to get my items for free, so in the end the money is usually to my benefit.

Grocery Shopping Tips:  With school starting, I look for ways to cut down on

my meal prep time during the week.    One way to stay away from the take out

line is to cook a large meal and have it two days in a row.   If you family doesn’t

like that much repetitiveness, then meal makeover.   That is right, cook up

chicken, beef, etc. for two meals, but serve them in different dishes.   For

example, roast chicken and be remade into pulled chicken sandwiches, soup,

chicken salad, or chicken casserole.

Let’s take a look at what we ate this week.

Living Large In the Cheap Seats---> June -July 2025

Living Large In the Cheap Seats June- July 2025 I was first introduced to “Living Large In the Cheap Seats” by a college friend, Chris J., who introduced me to lawn tickets for popular bands.   We were able to see concerts at a significantly discounted rate.   After reading Brokenomics by Dina Gachman, I revised this concept and decided to share it with you.  I have been doing this for years and enjoyed wonderful experiences for FREE! Concert in the Park Series The Keehner Park concerts are 7-9 p.m. on select Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day at the Keehner Park Amphitheater.  The free concerts welcome all guests to pack a picnic for the evening.  Sorry, but alcohol is NOT permitted.
