December 2024 USDA Thrifty Food Plan
According to this plan, our family would have a budget of $187.40 per week. Since January has 4 weeks, our monthly budget is $749.60. We elevate our dining experiences by including fresh fruits, vegetables, and higher-quality meats. Since we have health concerns and are active individuals, we limit our processed food choices.
Grocery Shopping Tip:
Stock up when you find a great deal on holiday items, such as ham. I saw ham on sale for $0.79 per pound. I picked up 2 because they will be kept in my extra refrigerator and the sell-by date is the end of March. My plan is to eat them for Sunday suppers and slice the rest for either ham steak dinners or as deli meat.
