Sausage Balls- $0.68 per Serving

When my husband and I were at the university, we had a great group of friends
who got together frequently for a potluck meal and an evening of games. 
These sausage balls were enjoyed many nights as a delicious snack. Now
my son requests them with his favorite breakfast- French Chocolate
Croissants.

Sausage Balls

Ingredients: 
2 lb Hot Sausage (1lb)
1 ½ cup Bisquick (¾ cup) 
4 cup cheddar cheese (2 cups) 
½ cup chopped jalapeno pepper (¼ cup) 
½ cup chopped onions (¼ cup) 
½ teaspoon each (garlic, chili powder) (¼ teaspoon) 

DIrections: 
Combine all ingredients and shape into balls.  

Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

NOTE- For crispy results place it on a metal rack over a baking sheet. 

As a bonus- they freeze well!

Regular Shopping 
2 lb Hot Sausage (1lb)- $2.00 
1 ½ cup Bisquick (¾ cup) - (40oz for $3.99) = $0.60
4 cup cheddar cheese (2 cups) - (16 oz for $2.99)= $1.50
½ cup chopped jalapeno pepper (¼ cup) - $0.26
½ cup chopped onions (¼ cup) - (3 lb $1.00/10)= $0.10
½ teaspoon each (garlic, chili powder) (¼ teaspoon) - $0.05 (Estimate) 

Total for the entire batch= $4.51
Approximate servings = 7 (4 balls each serving) 

Cost per serving = $0.68
