There are cycles in the weather, economy, politics, and general fabrics of life, but the cycle that I have focused on recently is the sale cycles which seem to be predictable and constant. Therefore, caution is best served here because overspending can easily occur in the name of saving money. Since knowledge is power, here are a few tricks and skills to help you make an informed decision on your cycles. Year-Round Tips and Tricks
Start a Price Book. This simple tracking system is used to look at the prices of the most common and expensive items you purchase. Write down the typical price and I also write down the best sale prices and dates to track the grocery store’s sale cycle. For example, Meijer’s had a $1.00 sale on potatoes and onions, and I saved approximately 66%. I am tracking this sale cycle to help me predict how much to purchase at the next sale. and see the frequency and lowest price. I have made a simple Google document to track the prices.
