Our Rich Backyard- Vacation Art

 Our Rich Backyard Life

Vacation Art

Slowing down and taking the time to enjoy our surroundings is essential to Living the Sweet Life On A Budget.  Whether it is enjoying nature or the beauty of city architecture, taking time to stop and appreciate beauty wherever you find it is essential.   Our Rich Backyard Life looks at the beauty surrounding us, whether it is animals, flowers, buildings, locations, or anything else that we can appreciate in our daily travels.

This year we went to Surfside for a short vacation before school started.     Our trip was filled with adventures and excessive beauty.    Several museums, sculptures, and natural beauty were free for the adventurous to behold.   We enjoyed a combination of both the free and low-cost museums and gardens during our stay.   It was incredible to get lost in the beauty another state has to offer.

Every day provided us with a new series of beautiful experiences.    One of my personal favorites was going to The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin art museum in myrtle beach.  The World of Frida's exhibit will be moving on in September 2022.   The World of Frida is an art collection that celebrates the culture, style, and persona of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo (1907-1954).  Through their art, these talented artists, continue to inspire by telling Frida’s story of love, loss, and incredible bravery.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces of the show:

This piece was completed with slight variation with a pink background.    In addition, it was the featured picture of the show.

Several pieces were completed in the medium of digital art.  They were spectacular!

I love the dimensional element of this piece.

There were several abstract pieces of art.

Some pieces presented Frida as a beautiful lady and others accentuated

her masculine side.

This was my favorite piece because it not only reflected her beauty but also represented her complexity and value system.

What beauty were you able to find in your backyard?

The Frugal Five: #88

The Frugal Five: #88 With inflation on the rise and salaries not increasing, our ability to make ends meet keeps going down.    Therefore, we must be more careful with our money.   The Frugal Five is a series where we celebrate the daily or weekly activities that help us live a frugal life.     This week I am exploring how to keep costs down during busy weeks.    Keeping dinner on the table instead of eating out is one of my strategies to get the job done.    Here are some of my tips and trips.    1- Free-Bee Pick Up  Over the last month, we have been blessed with several Free-Bees.  First, a friend gave us a dozen eggs from his chickens.  In addition, we picked up several photos with discount codes from Walgreens and CVS.   Next, we used our local grocery store coupons for several free food items such as seltzer water, ice cream, etc.   Then, we picked up toothpaste and eyeliners from ...
