The Frugal Five
With inflation on the rise and our salaries not being able to keep up, it seems like we have taken a pay cut and must be more careful with our money. The Frugal Five is a series where we celebrate our daily or weekly activities that help us live a frugal life.
1- Cut My Husband’s Hair
Each time we go to the barbershop it costs $25.00 plus a tip. Although he does go to the barber at least once a month, I keep his hair trimmed during the other times. This routine saves us a little cash and keeps his hair neat and professional.
2- Walgreen’s Free-Bee Run
Walgreens had a great opportunity this week to stock up on basic health and beauty items. When we combined the sales, coupons, and Walgreen rewards, all of these items were free!
3- Free Movies
Although at the beginning of the week I was really busy with work and classes, I was able to take advantage of a few free movies later in the week. I found them on Tubi, Roku, and Vudu. These apps stream older movies but they are still worth checking out.
4- Coffee at Home
Each morning I enjoy coffee on the way to swim practice. When I wake up a few minutes early and making coffee to take has saved me a lot of money each week. A coffee is about $3.50 each, so if you multiply it by 5 then I saved $17.50.
5-More Free Professional Development
A series of seminars I have wanted to take all year is embedded in the professional development course that I am taking this summer. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from pillars in the field.
