Making small changes that have big results.
Living the Good Life On A Budget can happen with small changes repeated weekly.
When combining picking up free items and frugal living tips, your life can be
transformed. Here are some ideas as to how you can make some small changes that
will have HUGE results over the course of a year.
On Friday’s I share a few frugal ideas to help you maintain The Sweet Life on a
Budget along with my money saving deals. Although I do not advocate shopping at a
large number of stores during this health crisis, if you are going to a particular store
that has a deal- just pick it up too. Knowledge is power.
Packed Lunches- Every day my husband packs his lunch to avoid eating out or at the
cafeteria. As a bonus, it helps to keep him eating the healthiest food.
Garden Happiness- The garden is showing small green tomatoes(Roma, Cherry,
Beefsteak), peppers (Jalapeno) and flowers on the watermelon, cantaloupe and squash.
In addition, the lettuce is ready to harvest again along with the herbs.
Basil- Italian Dishes
Mints (Spearmint and Peppermint) - Teas
Oregano and parsley- Variety of dishes
Rosemary- Roasts and Roasted Vegetables
Party Planning On a Budget- Our 4th of July was looking like a bust this year, but we
were talking with our friends last weekend and discovered that we both have a few basic low
level fireworks. We decided to pull our resources and coordinate our 4th of July fun while
keeping to our health department's recommendations. As a bonus, we will have a potluck
dinner and enjoy our company while social distancing.
Our Rich Backyard- Our yard’s flowers are putting on a beautiful display. As a bonus, I
can cut a few blooms and bring them into the house and enjoy them even more.
Careful Deal Finding- Over the past month, I have been careful with not going to many
stores during this time of staying at home and I wouldn’t encourage anyone to be out and
about unnecessarily because of the health impact. However, if I am going to the store for a
particular reason, then I try to pick up my deals. The deals are very small in number, but I
am grateful for any deal during this time.

FREE COMIC Book Summer
Free Comic Book Day is traditionally scheduled to take place the first Saturday in May each year. However, the impact and spread of COVID-19 prevented the event from being celebrated at its normal time this year. Now, the beloved event has been rescheduled and reworked to take place throughout July and early September in order to accommodate social-distancing and store capacity regulations across the country, effectively making it Free Comic Book Summer!
Scheduled to take place between July 15 and September 9, comic shops will receive five to six Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) titles in their weekly shipments during each week of the promotional window.
