National Coffee Day

National Coffee Day

History of coffee:
Legend has it that an Ethiopian man discovered this world changing bean by
accident.  He was watching his goat herd and noticed that when they ate the
leaves and berries from a particular tree (Coffea Tree) that they were restless
at night and running around their pen.   He later tried this for himself by making
a drink with the leaves and berries, which kept him up, so he shared it with the
monks who were amazed at how it gave them strength and relieved fatigue during
night services.

Now I don’t know if the legend is true, but I do love my coffee and a day to
celebrate this fabulous drink is right up my ally.

National Coffee Day is Sunday, September 29th.

So what is National Coffee Day?    Well just as the name sounds, it is a day to
celebrate this globally beloved drink.   People from this large field of the world
economy come up with varying ways to celebrate their drink each year as well
as coffee lovers, of course.

Traditional ways to celebrate:

Include coffee in your meal plan on this day.   You may want to have friends
over for a mocha dessert served of course with the elixir of life- Coffee.  Or
Maybe make a meal that has coffee as an ingredient like:

Drop by coffee house and find out whether they offer discounted drink or even
free deals. Usually, there are plenty of them as those businesses really honor
their professional holiday.

I know of the following places that are serving specials this year:

Starbucks- Claiming this day as Starbuck’s Day, but I am unaware of
any specials.

Krispy Kreme-  1 Free Coffee and Glazed Donut per person

Dunkin Donuts- Coffee BOGO
Kroger Grocery Store: Has Starbucks coffee as part of the Mega
deal and when you apply coupons (app and
printable) with IBOTTA rebate, 12 oz bags are
only $3.99.

How are you planning on celebrating National  Coffee Day?
