Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness

Budget Girl on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPTRGYqPE74) has challenged her
YouTube friends to share their random acts of kindness this holiday season.  Although I have not
been asked to participate, I love her idea and want to share what Acts of Kindness I have done or
am planning on doing.

My son asked to put up an extra stocking for Jesus this holiday season. When I asked him what
his thoughts were regarding this idea, his response was this season is to celebrate Jesus’ birthday
and Jesus should receive a gift too. When I pressed him for what he wanted to give Jesus. He
suggested that we place items from our stock pile in a box and keep our eyes out each week for
things to add to Jesus’ box.  Then once Epiphany (January 6th) has come that we donate the
entire box to the food bank because donations drop off in January, and that is what Jesus would like
us to do. Our family thinks it is a great idea and will be embracing my son's idea this season.

Although I usually do not send out Christmas Cards, I am going to make an effort to do this on
a regular basis over the next 3 weeks.  This our effort to send feelings of love and peace this season.

In our area the Veterans organization has requested clothing for Veterans and their families.  We will
be going through our outgrown clothes and gather a few boxes to donate.

The last things that we thought of were some simple low cost or free things to do in order to
share the joy this season.
Smile more
Make sure to slow down and use good manners  (Thank you, Please)
Open the door for others
Be positive even in the presence of negativity
Sharing our baked good with our neighbors
Practice thoughtfulness

I would love to hear how you are sharing kindness and joy this holiday season.

Since March has 4 weeks, our monthly budget is $757.20.   We elevate our dining experiences by including fresh fruits, vegetables, and higher-quality meats.  Since we have health concerns and are active individuals, we limit our processed food choices.    Grocery Shopping Tip:     Utilize your grocery store’s loyalty program. This month, my 2 primary grocery stores have provided me with store coupons for bread, Silk milk, jelly candy, frozen vegetables, and Bali coconut water.  Here is what we did this week to make our week easier: ...
